Everton to re-sign Lacina Traore?

12 July 2014 - 06:11

Everton manager Roberto Martinez is hoping to secure the services of Ivorian international forward Lacina Traore on loan for a second season. Traore's parent club Monaco is ready to let him leave for the campaign ahead.

  • Chelsea finally receive bid for Enzo Fernandez
  • Como agree deal to sign Robert Sanchez

  • The Ivory Coast international enjoyed a short stint at Goodison Park last campaign but felt that he had little time to prove himself under Roberto Martinez and is believed to have told his agent to help secure a return back to the Premier League.

The 24-year-old, who formerly played for Russian side Anzhi before securing a transfer to Monaco, is deemed surplus to requirements at the French club, who already have impressive Colombian forward duo James Rodriguez and Radamel Falcao on the books. Everton manager Martinez is to make a renewed approach for Traore to bolster his team's attacking options.

Traore is also a target for other teams though, with Premier League rivals Newcastle also keeping a watchful eye on the player's situation.
