La Liga club Almería are reportedly in advanced talks to sign Brazilian striker Wellington Silva on loan from Arsenal.
Silva has already spent the last four seasons with various clubs in Spain, which will soon make him eligible to apply for Spanish citizenship.
Since his signing from Fluminense in 2011, Arsenal have loaned the player out to Levante, Alcoyano, Ponferradina and last season to Real Murcia.
Wellington Silva spent the 2013-2014 campaign in the Segunda with Real Murcia, helping the club reach the promotion play-offs, making 39 appearances in all competitions and scored 3 goals.
“A deal has been agreed between Arsenal and Almería for Wellington Silva to go on loan for the season. He had the chance to go to a number of teams in Spain, but Silva has decided to join Almería,” Silva's agent said.
Arsenal's manager Arsene Wenger reportedly sees the player as a long-term prospect for the club and so, with his signing in La Liga this season he will earn the required experience playing at the biggest stage in Spain.
