Arsenal are reportedly set to join Newcastle United in the race for the signature of Juventus full-back Mauricio Isla, according to The Metro.

The Gunners have been on the look out for top performers from the recently concluded World Cup final in Brazil. Isla had a great spell with the Chile national side, as they were knocked out in penalties against hosts Brazil in the quarter-final stage.

The Metro claims that the Magpies United are keen on signing the talented right-back this summer, and will make a bid of around £8m bid for his services.

In addition to this, the Gunners have opened up their interest in Isla, as he has the ability to also play in midfield or on the wing.
