Valbuena to QPR?

26 July 2014 - 14:36

London club Queens Park Rangers have been given a boost in their pursuit to land Frenchman Mathieu Valbuena after he has turned down Russian side Dynamo Moscow.

  • Mauricio Pochettino confirms fresh injury blow for Chelsea star
  • Arsenal want to make four marquee signings this summer

  • The 29-year old World Cup star has alerted many clubs to his availability after a string of great performances for his national side at this summer’s tournament and also for his current club Marseille.

Premier League giants Arsenal and Liverpool are also behind the player after Valbuena decided for a move following the World Cup finals in Brazil.

QPR is a newly promoted side and they want to strengthen their squad for the new campaign to try and avoid relegation back down to the Championship.

Having already signed Steven Caulker and Rio Ferdinand this summer so far, they will want to bring in some more attacking creativity.

With the player turning down a three year contract for €10 million to join Dynamo Moscow in Russia, QPR will have to bid big money to sign him.

The player is said to prefer a move to Spain, but could be tempted if the offer is right.

The London club will begin their Premier League campaign when they play against Hull City.
