Bamba back to Leicester City?

27 July 2014 - 16:57

Leicester City are reportedly plotting a move to bring Ivory Coast defender Sol Bamba back to the club from Turkish club Trabzonspor. The 29-year-old was sent to the Turkish side by manager Nigel Pearson in June 2012 as part of a cost-cutting exercise after making more than 50 appearances for the Foxes.

  • However, Pearson is now ready to re-sign the defender for less than the £750,000 he sold him for as he plans for life in the Premier League after winning promotion to the Premier League last season.

Bamba is in the final year of his contract in Turkey and Trabzonspor won't stand in his way if City decide to bid for the player.

He would be Pearson's seventh summer signing after a season in which the Foxes' boss has already signed Leonardo Ulloa, Louis Rowley, Ben Hamer, Jack Barmby, Marc Albrighton and Matthew Upson to bolster his playing squad at the King Power Stadium.
