Louis Van Gaal: Man Utd may not need new signings

02 August 2014 - 08:03

Manchester United manager Louis Van Gaal has told reporters that he may not need to spend any more money on new players this summer after an impressive pre-season effort from his current squad. The Dutchman has already overseen deals for Luke Shaw and Ander Herrera.

  • United are usually linked with a host of new signings every summer but manager Van Gaal has indicated that the club may not bring in any new faces as he is happy with his current crop of talent.

Van Gaal has been chasing a deal for Kevin Strootman and Thomas Vermaelen so far this summer.

"We still have a month to go [before the transfer window shuts] and we are winning. Maybe we don't need other players," said Van Gaal. "First I want to see the players who I have and give them an honest chance."
