Manchester United are reportedly in talks with Sporting Lisbon over the potential transfer of defender Marcos Rojo to the club.

The 24-year-old had a good spell with the Argentine national side, as he helped them reach the finals of the World Cup in Brazil.

According to The Metro, Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal has been impressed by the defender's performances during the World Cup and is now open to sealing a deal for his services.

In addition to this, the report also claims that the player's agents are in talks with the Mancunian giants over the prospective deal.
