Liverpool have officially confirmed the signing of Alberto Moreno from Sevilla for a fee in the region of £12m.

The 22-year-old is deemed to have agreed on a long-term deal with the Reds, following a successful medical at the club.

Moreno, who is yet to make a senior appearance for the Spain, played a key role in Sevilla's Europa League triumph last season.

This is what the talented defender had to say on the transfer : "In my view, Liverpool are the best club in England and I couldn't waste an opportunity to come and play for them. I'm very happy to be joining a club as big as Liverpool. I hope to give my best and do all I can to help."

It is understood that Moreno will not feature for the Reds against Southampton on Sunday due to the delay in the transfer agreement.
