Di Maria one of the best signings

Federico Macheda feels Di Maria will prove to be an asset for Manchester United

Di Maria 'one of the best signings'

Former Manchester United striker Federico Macheda believes Angel Di Maria’s signing will be ‘great’ for the English club and insists his experience will help the side this season.

  • Omari Hutchinson wants to continue at Ipswich Town

  • The Argentine international is on the verge of a €72.5 million deal with the Old Trafford outfit from Spanish giants Real Madrid on a five year contract.

If reports are to be believed, the 26-year-old winger will have his medical on Wednesday and Macheda, who has spent the last few years out on loan from the Premier League side feels the club has done great by roping the player in.

“I think he's one of the best signings they could make. At Man United a player like Di Maria will lift the players and the club as well”, he was quoted as saying by ITV.

“If they can get him it will be great for the club.

“He has played already for a big club in Real Madrid so he will be fine with the pressure on him.

“He's been to Portugal and Spain so that will help him coming to England”, the 23-year-old Italian added.

Di Maria had made 124 league appearances for the Santiago Bernabeu side since his debut back in 2010 and was also a part of the squad that won the Champions League last year. Should this deal come through, he will miss out on European action with Manchester United this season, but will be hoping to help them qualify for the next edition.
