Premier League side Hull City have completed the signing of Uruguayan striker Abel Hernandez from Serie B club Palermo today.
The 24-year-old will join Steve Bruce’s side for reported fee of £9.5m in a three-year deal with an option of extending the contract further by one year, as a direct replacement for Irish striker Shane Long, who left the Tigers to move to Southampton this summer.
Hernandez was a part of the Sky Blue outfit that played the World Cup in Brazil this year, and has 14 international caps to his name scoring on seven occasions.
The young player started his professional career with Uruguayan club Central Espanol, and then moved to first division side Penarol in 2008. He joined the Italian club in 2009, making 111 appearances since joining.
A stint in the Premier League could help the player a long way in his international career, and Hernandez would be hoping to make every outing with the KC Stadium outfit count.
Hull City will play their next game against West Ham United on 15th September.
