Soldado close to Tottenham exit

Roberto Soldado could be on the brink of leaving Tottenham Hotspur in January as Atletico Madrid and Inter Milan are said to be considering a move for the striker.

  • The Spanish international joined the White Hart Lane club last summer for a club record fee of £26 million from La Liga side Valencia, but has failed to leave his mark for the North London side.

He has made 29 league appearances for the Lilywhites since his debut but has scored on merely six occasions out which four goals came from the penalty spot.

Things look no different under new manager Mauricio Pochettino as the 29-year-old has been fielded just once in five Premier League games this season by the Argentine boss.

According to reports in Sky Sports, both Diego Simeone and Walter Mazzarri are weighing up deals to bring in the player to their respective countries and with no regular football in England, Soldado, who has 12 international caps to his name with the Reds, would be more than willing for a move away.
