Schalke midfielder Julian Draxler has been heavily linked with a transfer to the Gunners over the past year, but there has been no breakthrough in the deal.

According to The People, the North London outfit have been tracking Croatian star Marcelo Brozovic over the past few weeks, with a view to an offer for his services in the winter transfer window.

However, the Gunners could opt for their long-term target in Draxler, should a deal fail to materialize for the Dinamo Zagreb midfielder.

Arsenal play away at Chelsea in the London derby on Sunday.
