Bayern Munich have banned Oliver Kahn for one game and fined him 25,000 Euros for disciplinary reasons. The German keeper will be dropped and Michael Rensing will take his place.
The Bavarian giants said in a statement on the club's official website that the team will travel to face Hertha BSC on Saturday without the 38-year old captain who has been suspended for "disciplinary reasons" by coach Ottmar Hitzfeld.
No further details will be announced and the statement said that the case would be dealt internally. The decision means that Michael Rensing would get back to his starting role for at least this game.
Kahn assisted to the morning session and nothing seems to have troubled the atmosphere until Hitzfeld announced the news by lunchtime.
