Aston Villa will attempt to secure the services of midfielder Tom Cleverley on a permanent basis in the New Year, The Mirror reports.
The England international joined the Villans on a season-long loan deal from Manchester United, having fallen out-of-favour under manager Louis van Gaal.
Cleverley has been in good form for Villa this season, and The Mirror claims that manager Paul Lambert will look to secure his future at the club by making a bid in the region of £7.5m in the winter transfer window.
However, reports elsewhere claim that the club's hierarchy could wait till next summer, in order to sign the midfielder on free transfer.
