Queens Park Rangers' chairman Tony Fernandes has blocked Harry Redknapp from signing new players in the January transfer window. Redknapp will only be allowed to loan players.

  • Harry Redknapp has already snapped up Mauro Zarate on loan from West Ham and has been in talks with several other teams regarding potential transfers.

"I knew things were tight so it is no surprise," said Redknapp.

"We hold 18,000 people (at Loftus Road) so what can you do? You can't keep ask people to throw money in; they did their dough a few years ago.

"We've got to be careful haven't we? I think we will stay up but if the worst comes to the worst you don't want to leave a situation where you are stuck with a load of players that you can't shift. I had to get rid of 15 the other year and we had to pay half of them up to go."
