Manchester United are reportedly monitoring the progress of on-loan Barcelona midfielder Alex Song, according to The Express.
The Cameroon international has been in top form for the West Ham United ever since his switch from Barcelona on a season-long loan deal.
Song has recently revealed of his desire to seal a permanent switch to the Hammers following his excellent return in England's top flight.
The Express claims that United boss Louis van Gaal is keeping tabs on the African star and could launch an offer for his services come the end of the current campaign.
United are currently fourth in the Premier League.
