West Ham are interested in a move for Israeli international Nir Bitton, should a deal for Alex Song fall through. The Celtic defensive midfielder is being tracked by numerous top teams but the Hammers are in pole position.
Bitton, who is comfortable playing anywhere in midfield but is at his best in a defensive role, joined Celtic in 2013 from Israeli side Ashdod and is now one of the best in the Scottish Premier League.
West Ham are concerned that Barcelona have yet to accept an offer for Alex Song and will now turn their attentions to other targets.
The Hammers have had Yossi Benayoun and Eyal Berkovic at their club in the past and so have a huge fan base in the Middle Eastern country. West Ham are now hoping to bring in Bitton in the summer and will pay 7.5 million pounds for his signature.
