Crystal Palace to break transfer record for Celtic defender

08 March 2015 - 13:36

Crystal Palace are likely to make a record offer to land the services of Celtic defender Virgil van Dijk in the summer.

  • Chelsea to move for former Arsenal goalkeeper?
  • Former Chelsea boss to replace Erik ten Hag at Man Utd?

  • Eagles boss Alan Pardew is believed to be keen on strengthening his squad in the off-season, and considers the need of a new centre-back as his number one priority.

According to The Mirror, Pardew is hopeful that the prospect of playing Premier League football could appeal the former Netherlands Under-21 international into a summer move to the club.

The report adds that the Eagles would require a fee of around £10m to land the Dutchman's signature.

Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur have been previously linked with moves for the 23-year-old.
