Roma close in on Glen Johnson

Italian giants AS Roma are confident of signing up Liverpool defender Glen Johnson at the end of the season.

The England international's current deal at the Reds expires at the end of the season, and talks have stalled over a contract extension.

According to Metro, Roma are likely to seal a pre-contract agreement with the former Pompey star in the next 48 hours.

Johnson has made 20 appearances in all competitions for the Reds this season.
