Arsenal could fail in their pursuit to sign French midfielder Maxime Gonalons should Lyon manager to secure a Champions League spot next season.
The Gunners have been long linked with a move for the talented midfielder, and recent reports revealed that a summer bid could be in the offing for the player's signature.
However, Metro claims that the North London outfit could face a tough task to land the 26-year-old, with Lyon looking likely to clinch a Champions League qualification place for the next campaign.
Lyon are currently top of Ligue 1 with 58 points.
