Real Madrid are believed to be inching closer to the summer signing of Austrian international David Alaba from Bayern Munich, according to a Spanish source.

Alaba, who can play in both defence and midfield, has been in top form for the Bavarian giants this season, and this has brought up interest from the European champions.

According to Marca, Los Blancos representatives have contacted the player's father regarding a possible summer move to the Bernabeu.

Alaba has scored five goals in 29 games for Bayern this season.
