Manchester United have been speculated to have held talks with AC Milan midfielder Nigel de Jong regarding a potential move this summer.
The Netherlands international was linked with a switch to Old Trafford last summer, but the Rossoneri were not interested in selling off their asset.
De Jong's current deal at Milan expires at the end of the season, and The Star now claims that United are confident of sealing a Bosman move for the former Manchester City star.
In addition to this, the excellent relationship between Louis van Gaal and De Jong could prove an additional credential in securing the transfer.
