Schuster: top spot means nada

Schuster: top spot means nada

23 December 2007 - 08:59

Real Madrid boss Bernd Schuster believes being in top spot counts for nothing going into this Sunday's crucial Primera Liga match against Barcelona at the Nou Camp.

  • Mikel Arteta insists 27yo star won't be leaving Arsenal
  • Omari Hutchinson wants to continue at Ipswich Town

  • "We are leaders, but experience tells me that the table isn't too important in games like these, which are marked by intense rivalry and motivation."

"There have been excellent derbies when both sides weren't playing well in the rest of the competition.

"I think we are as anxious as they are. We can't afford to think that we will continue being leaders if we lose."

"There are more than points at stake in this game. We must only think about winning," the former Getafe coach added.
