Newcastle United are ready to offer stiff competition to Derby County for the services of Hull City midfielder Tom Ince.
Ince spent the second half of the season at Derby County, where he notched up 11 goals in 18 appearances.
The talented midfielder is expected to leave the Tigers this summer, having fallen out with club manager Steve Bruce.
The Rams are said to have triggered the player's release clause, but Sky Sport News claims that former Derby boss Steve McClaren is keen on bringing the 23-year-old to St.James Park this summer.
Ince has just one year left in his existing deal at Hull City.
