Manchester United will face stiff competition from Real Madrid for the services of Valencia defender Nicolas Otamendi this summer.
The Red Devils are rumoured to have agreed personal terms with the Argentine defender, but have yet to agree a transfer fee with Los Che.
Reports in Spain now claim that United are unwilling to match Valencia's asking price of £35m for the talented centre-back.
It is added that Real Madrid may swoop for Otamendi's signature in the next few days, as they have plenty of transfer budget in store to land his services.
Otamendi is currently plying his trade with Argentina in the Copa America held in Chile.
