Newcastle United are reportedly planning a summer offer for Ipswich Town defender Tyrone Mings.
The 22-year-old was in top form for the Tractor Boys in the first-half of the Championship, and this attracted interest from Arsenal last winter.
However, the Gunners opted to sign up Gabriel Paulista from Villareal, and this cooled down the transfer speculation.
According to the Chronicle, the talented centre-back has been well watched by Steve McClaren, who was in-charge of Derby County in the Championship last season.
It is further added that the Magpies will launch a move for Mings next week, having sent scouts themselves to watch the young defender in action during the previous campaign.
