Manchester United are closing in on their first signing for the summer, according to a report.
The Red Devils boss Louis van Gaal understood to be keen on bringing in German international Bastian Schweinsteiger, with whom he had a good relationship during his managerial reign at Bayern Munich.
According to The People, the World Cup winner is inching closer to a £7.5m transfer to the Mancunian giants.
Schweinsteiger has made 500 appearances for the Bavarian outfit in his playing career.
