The World Cup winner was frustrated by the lack of first-team opportunities in the first-half of last season, and decided to make a short-term loan move to Inter Milan in the turn of the year.

However, his temporary switch turned out to be a disaster, as manager Roberto Mancini decided to bench him after a few games.

Podolski has now admitted that it was a mistake to join th Nerazzurri on loan, and he will seek to redeem himself at the Emirates in the upcoming campaign.

The former Bayern star scored a solitary goal for Inter during his loan stint.
