Arsenal have made a formal approach to sign Roma defender Kostas Manolas, according to reports.
The 24-year-old joined Roma from Greek giants Olympiakos last summer, and had an impressive campaign at the Capital outfit.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the Gunners have made contact with Manolas' representative Mino Raiola regarding the player's availability during the summer transfer window.
The Greece international made 30 league appearances for Rudi Garcia's side last season, as they qualified for the Champions League.
