Winger Stewart Downing looks all set to quit West Ham United and return to his former club Middlesbrough. Downing has been told he is surplus to requirements at Upton Park.
Downing - despite being a regular fixture at the Hammers over the past few seasons - has been told by new manager Slaven Bilic that he is free to move away. Middlesbrough are hoping that a deal can be agreed as soon as possible and that Downing will make a transfer in the coming weeks having agreed a fee of 3. 45 million GBP for the former England international.
