Fabio Coentrao wants Benfica return

Fabio Coentrao have reportedly asked Real Madrid to let him rejoin Benfica this summer.

The Portugal international joined the La Liga giants from Benfica in 2011, and has since then played second fiddle to Marcelo for the left-back role.

According to Portuguese publication A Bola, Coentrao is keen on making a switch back to his former club Benfica before the transfer deadline.

The 27-year-old has not played a part in the club's pre-season as he continues to recuperate from a minor niggle.
