Tottenham goalkeeper Paul Robinson is hoping to keep in good form in order to get another chance as England's number 1 with Fabio Capello in charge. Scott Carson played England's last game against Croatia.
The keeper admitted the fact that his below par performance did take its toll on his confidence but claimed that his spell out of the Three Lions squad has enabled him to be a better player and hopes to get back his place in the squad.
"I had a dip in confidence," explained Robinson.
"Of course it hurt at the time being left out by England, but sometimes you look at the game and become a better player when you're not playing.
"When you get criticised, it is not nice but I feel in the last few weeks I've been getting back to my best. I'm feeling confident now.
"With the new England manager everyone starts with a clean slate but there are only a couple of friendly games during the rest of this season so I'm really looking to maintain my form for Tottenham."
