France international Mathieu Valbuena is reportedly closing in on a return to Ligue 1 with Lyon.

The talented playmaker made his way to Dynamo Moscow from Marseille last summer.

However, he has since then struggled to settle to style of play in Russia, and has been on the search for a new club.

According to French publication L'Equipe, the 30-year-old is on the verge of joining Lyon after Dynamo agreed a fee in the region of £4.5m for the transfer.

Valbuena made 29 appearances for Dynamo in all competitions last term.
