AS Roma have told defender Ashley Cole that he is free to seek a new club before the closure of the transfer window.
The former England international joined the Serie A giants from Chelsea last term, and has since then struggled to adapt to the style of play in the Italian capital.
According to Sky Sports News, Roma head coach Rudi Garcia has told the former Blues man to find himself a new challenge before the transfer deadline.
Cole made just 11 league appearances for the Giallorossi last season.
