Chelsea have cooled down their interest in Everton defender John Stones after manager Roberto Martinez insisted that the player is not for sale.

The Blues have been two bids of &pound20m and &pound26m knocked back for the England international.

It has been recently reported that the Premier League holders would come up with a third and final offer for the efficient centre-back.

However, the Blues have decided to pull the plug on the deal, as the Toffees are reluctant to sell their star asset at any price this summer.

Chelsea will now look at options elsewhere, with Mourinho desperate to shore up his backline.
