Everton are reportedly in crunch talks to sign River Plate defender Ramiro Funes Mori.
The 24-year-old has been a key player for the Argentine side, who were crowned the champions of the Premier Division.
A report from the Liverpool Echo cites that Toffees boss Roberto Martinez had sent scouts to track the centre-back in recent months, and has been impressed by the positive feedback.
It is also thought that Mori is considered as the ideal candidate to fill the void left by the departures of Sylvain Distin and Antolin Alcaraz this summer.
