Norwich City are understood to have failed with a bid for Stoke City forward Jonathan Walters.

The Republic of Ireland international is in the final year of his contract at the Britannia Stadium, and this has led to the speculation that he could find himself somewhere else this summer.

According to The Telegraph, the Potters have rebuffed a bid of around &pound1.5m from the Canaries for their experienced striker.

Walters has stalled on talks over a contract extension, with the Potters unwilling to match his demands of a new three-year deal.
