The Spain international was thought to have agreed a deadline day move to the Bernabeu, but the deal failed in the 11th hour as Real failed to submit the required documents before the Spanish transfer deadline.

A report from The Mirror now cites that United will not entertain any offers for their star asset, and are content to have him at the club until his contract expires next summer.

De Gea joined the Mancunian giants from Atletico Madrid in 2011.
