Newcastle United are reportedly interested in a winter deal for Queens Park Rangers striker Charlie Austin.
The Magpies were thought to be keen on signing the talented Englishman over the summer, but opted against any kind of deal due to the R's hefty asking price of &pound15m.
The Telegraph now understands that the Tyneside outfit will reignite their interest in the former Burnley man in the January transfer window.
It is added that Steve McClaren's side are confident of wrapping up a cut-price deal of just &pound6m for the player, given he is in the final year of his contract at Loftus Road.
Austin has scored five goals in six games for QPR this season.
