Chelsea are still interested in Valencia full-back Jose Gaya despite the young defender inking a long-term deal over the summer.

The 20-year-old has been linked with a move to Stamford Bridge earlier this summer until he opted to sign a new five-year contract.

Gaya was promoted to Los Che's first team last season, and has since then been a regular in the starting line-up.

Metro understands that the Blues will line up a January offer for the talented defender as Jose Mourinho looks to add more youthful exuberance to his squad following a dismal start to the campaign.
