The 28-year-old had been linked with a move to the Catalan giants over the summer, but their transfer embargo hindered the deal.

According to Mundo Deportivo, Barca would consider triggering Nolito's release clause of £18m come the winter transfer window in January.

It is added that the talented forward is ready to stall on talks over a new deal as he seeks a return to his former club.

Nolito has been impressive during his time at Balaidos notching 16 assists and 31 goals in 75 league outings.
