Former manager Alex Ferguson is confident that Manchester United can give a tough fight for the Premier League title following David de Gea's commitment to the club.
The Spain international was heavily linked with a move to Real Madrid over the summer, but this was not meant to happen as his dream transfer fell through on deadline day due to late submission of paperwork.
De Gea has since then regained focus and committed his future to the Mancunian giants by signing a new four-year contract.
Ferguson has now backed United to regain the league title with their star performer back into the thick of things.
'I think De Gea can actually win us the league,' he told reporters.
The 25-year-old joined the Red Devils from Atletico Madrid in 2011.
