The 23-year-old joined Los Che from Schalke 04 in 2014, and has since then been a regular in the first-team setup.

Spanish publication Mundo Deportivo understands that Barca sporting director Robert Fernandez has had a keen look on the central defender, and a January offer could well be on the reckoning.

Mustafi has earned eight caps with the German national side.
