Reigning Spanish champions Barcelona are understood to be eyeing a January deal for Chelsea target Marquinhos.
The Paris Saint-Germain defender has been strongly linked with a move to Stamford Bridge in recent days following the Blues' horror show in the Premier League.
However, Barca are also said to be eyeing reinforcements of their own at the back for the second half of the season.
According to Italian source Mundo Deportivo, the Catalan giants are ready to take a steal, and land the player's services ahead of their rivals in the New Year.
It is added that Marquinhos is considered as a cheaper option compared to Athletic Bilbao's Aymeric Laporte.
Marquinhos has the versatility to play at either right-back or in the heart of the defence.
