Schalke 04 skipper Benedikt Howedes has hinted that he could move to the Premier League at some point in the future.

The German international has spent his entire career in the Bundesliga notching over 250 appearances for the Gelsenkirchen outfit.

However, it is now known that the 27-year-old yearns to make a move abroad with England being a flattering option.

"I am still keen on going abroad and playing in England is definitely a flattering option in this respect. Still I am with Schalke and I have a job to do at this club," he told German sports daily Bild.

Newly appointed Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp is thought to have earmarked Howedes as a top target for January due to his excellent versatility at the back.
