Brazilian side Corinthians have confirmed that they have struck a verbal agreement for the transfer of striker Alexandre Pato to Liverpool.
Recent speculation had claimed that both clubs had agreed a deal in principle to land the former AC Milan star.
Corinthians president Roberto de Andrade has now admitted that the speculation is indeed true and the player will be allowed to move to Liverpool in the next transfer window.
"There is an agreement in principle with Liverpool for the transfer in the coming weeks," he told reporters."Pato had long expressed a desire to return to Europe. "
It is also known that the Reds will announce the player's capture once they finalize all the necessary paperwork for his transfer.
