Michu leaves Swansea City by mutual consent

09 November 2015 - 17:02

Spanish midfielder Michu has parted company with Swansea City by mutual consent.

  • Chelsea ready to sell four home-grown players
  • Predicted Chelsea line-up (4-2-3-1) vs Aston Villa, Palmer starts

  • The 29-year-old joined the Premier League outfit from Raye Vallecano in 2012, and notched an impressive tally of 22 goals in his debut campaign.

However, he has since then struggled to make any crucial impact with injuries hampering his progress.

The Swans have now confirmed that they have granted a free transfer to Michu, whose contract was due to expire at the end of the current campaign.

"Swansea City have parted company with Spanish forward Michu by mutual consent," read a statement on the club's official website.

"The agreement will allow Michu to become a free agent and assist him to find a new club straight away in order to kick-start his playing career again in January."

Former club Rayo Vallecano and Scottish giants Celtic have been recently linked with the player's services.
