Reigning European champions Barcelona have reportedly joined Chelsea in the race to land Everton centre-back John Stones.
The England international had been the subject of handful of bids from the Blues over the summer, but the Toffees were firm in their desire to keep hold of their star asset.
It has been recently reported that the Blues may well come up with a renewed bid for the 21-year-old, who is valued at around £45m.
However, The Telegraph claims that Catalan scouts were deployed to watch the young defender in action during England's recent friendly against Spain.
It is added that Barca have received a positive note, and a bid could be made in the next transfer window.
Barcelona are free to bring in new recruits in the New Year following an end to their year-long transfer embargo.
