McLeish praises defence

Alex McLeish has praised Birmingham for managing to grab a draw against Arsenal at the Emirates through Scottish striker Garry O'Connor. The ex-Scottish coach praised his defence's organisation to keep out the Gunners.

  • "It was great to see the goal go in and then we defended for our lives after that," he told Sky Sports.



    "Our organisation and shape was a credit to the players.



    "We have got to play better in games we are expected to win. We have got to show that kind of resilience and character in every game."



    On the penalty decision that Adebayor stepped up to score, McLeish said: "I thought it was soft."
