Chelsea will reportedly make a formal approach for Leicester City star Jamie Vardy when the transfer window reopens in January.
The England international has been in sublime form for the Foxes this campaign, and this has propelled them to the top of the league standings at Christmas.
According to The Mirror, Interim boss Guus Hiddink has been given the green light to bring in some fresh faces next month.
It is added that the Dutchman has earmarked 28-year-old Vardy as his main transfer target for the New Year.
Vardy has scored 15 goals in 17 league games for his side this season.
